THE GATHERING - CARDIFF
A SAFE PLACE FOR THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY TO EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH
About Us
Our Pastoral Leaders
Hi! We're The Gathering, an inclusive church for all. We are a gathering of people from the LGBTQIA+ community
(and their allies) who love to talk about and share our Christian faith.
We're passionate about cultivating our ever growing community and modelling a church that truly serves queer people. Our favourite thing to do is meet on a Sunday evening in Cardiff. Here we take time to talk, drink tea, worship God and just be together. We'd love to see you there!
If you'd like to know more about The Gathering and what we get up to, or if you'd like to join us on a Sunday evening you can messages us via the contact form or head to our Facebook page and send us a Direct Message.
Our Story
The story so far...
What We Believe
The Gathering is a Christian church of folks coming together in community to explore our faith, worship God and experience fellowship and support.
Our beliefs are Christian, as outlined in the Nicene Creed below, and we believe that everyone has a right to worship God regardless of sexual orientation or gender. We believe that we are called to create a safe space for LGBTQIAP+ people to meet and worship, and that we all have a right to express our sexuality and gender identity without being censored or being barred from worship.
We believe that those with whom we disagree should be treated with respect and grace and shown the love of Christ through our words and actions. We believe that we should be treated with respect and that we have a right to protect ourselves and others from harmful behaviour or comment.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen
