Queer Theology 101

Queer Theology 101 is an 8-week course we ran in 2023 and again in early 2026 in collaboration with Cardiff University Chaplaincy. The course is designed to be an accessible way for people to learn some of the basics about queer theology, especially for those who don’t have much experience of learning about the Bible through a queer lens. Beginning with an introductory session to layout the basics of Biblical studies and interpretation, Queer Theology 101 took us through the “clobber passages”, Paul’s letters, and queer interpretations of Biblical characters in our typical casual Gathering style. Each session was also accompanied by optional resources for further study as well as discussion questions.
