Queer Theology 101

It’s back!

  • Do you want to learn more about Queer theology?

  • Like the idea of being affirming of LGBTQ+ people, but have concerns about what the Bible says?

  • Experienced homophobia in church settings and want to know how to tackle it?

Well we’re running our free, 8-week course again! This year we are running our Queer Theology 101 course with Cardiff University Chaplaincy!

This course is designed to be an accessible way for people to learn some of the basics about queer theology, especially for those who don’t have much experience of learning about the Bible through a queer lens. Beginning with an introductiory session to layout the basics of Bibical studies and intepretation, Queer Theology 101 will take you through the “clobber passages”, Paul’s letters, and queer interpretations of Biblical characters in our typical casual Gathering style. Each session will also be accompanied by optional resources for further study as well as discussion questions.

Where?

In-person sessions will be held at Cardiff University Chaplaincy, 61 Park Place, CF10 3AT

The entire course will also be available to attend online for both the presentation and the discussions.

When?

The course will run for 8 weeks, every Monday evening at 6-8pm, from the 26th January to the 16th March!

Who?

This course has been put together by our very own LGBTQ+ Community Link Worker, Georgia and will be delivered in collaboration with Cardiff University Chaplaincy!

This course is intended for adults, so is 18+
