Queer Theology 101
In 2023, we ran a Queer Theology 101 course, which was designed to be an accessible way for people to learn some of the basics about queer theology, especially for those who don’t have much experience of learning about the Bible through a queer lens. Our very own LGBTQ+ Community Link Worker put their handy Masters degree in Theology to use and carefully constructed a course of 8 sessions that could be delivered in-person and online.
Beginning with an introductiory session to layout the basics of Bibical studies and intepretation, Queer Theology 101 takes you through the “clobber passages”, Paul’s letters, and queer interpretations of Biblical characters in our typical casual Gathering style. Each session was accompanied by resources for further study as well as discussion questions. There was even a Very Serious Certificate at the end!
